Is it possile to have the hamburger menu style also for the desktop version of the page?

You can try achieving this using Header 6 or Header 7 header layout in the theme header settings which displays hamburger menu style as listed below.

On this note, is there a way to modify the preset headers to have the menu (hamburger stalye) and the contact details in one line?

You have to edit following theme in the child theme for Header 6 and Header 7 respectively.
