i’m wondering if updates from themes like 1.4.2 to 1.5 address any of these, or if there are additional things that can be done to optimize for speed. in particular some of the things i’m wondering about are on the “Yslow” tab of the results.
ie. minifying javascript and css; and making fewer http requests. these in particular seem strongly theme related.

note that p3 performer is very out of date and no longer works well.
i was able to improve my performance pretty strongly using autoptimizer and wp super cache.
