I paid someone to fix it. They uninstalled the plugin you suggested and used jetpack to fix the ugly cropping. It didn’t fix the portfolio gallery cropping but at least my homepage masonry layout is restored.
I don’t really trust your support team to fix the original issue after all of this. I also don’t feel like it’s fair to mark this “resolved” as y’all didn’t actually resolve it, I had to pay someone to fix it after all of your incompetence.
I feel the need to add:
I have never had a theme before where I couldn’t undo a setting change or revert back to the original demo layout if necessary. If this can’t be fixed, I would like a refund because I can’t use a theme where one small setting change can create such a huge problem that is apparently unfixable. If it cannot be fixed by your next comment, please advise on how to get a refund because this is honestly ridiculous.

Please actually look at the demo. Do you see how it has a masonry setting and none of the pictures are cropped? Do you see how the pictures are proportionate in the homepage to their actual dimensions?
Now look at my homepage and notice how the pictures are all cropped to be square or slightly shorter FOR NO REASON. Even though the media settings have been returned to the original settings and you and I have both run your stupid regenerate thumbnails plugin.
I’ve attached two pictures. Let me know if you’re still confused over how the masonry page fundamentally works and why my homepage clearly isn’t masonry any more. PLEASE FIX.Â
The red boxes show the approximate dimensions of what the pictures were before I followed your instructions and this all started.
BY THE WAY. Your instructions had NO effect on the gallery images, they ONLY served to ruin the masonry layout on my homepage. I tried re-uploading the pictures and it hasn’t fixed it. So I really need to you step up here, use the temporary login, and THEN PLEASE OBSERVE IF WHAT YOU DID HAD ANY ACTUAL EFFECT ON THE HOMEPAGE. Because you clearly didn’t follow the last step after your last comment.
Again, I’m really sorry for coming across as a dick. But please understand my side here: I came in asking for help with a minor problem on my website, the advice I was given created a huge glitch, and now I can’t get it back to the way it was nor can I apparently create a masonry gallery ANYWHERE on my website, and I feel as though no one is listening when I ask for help or actually observing/understanding the problem. And it doesn’t help that there is apparently a 12 hour time difference between us, so I have to wait a full day to learn you haven’t read or understood my comments and have done nothing to actually fix the problem.
Please. I just need the homepage to have a masonry layout again. Please try to do that and please look at the homepage after you do whatever you need to do to actually if it’s masonry instead of asking if it’s fixed when literally nothing changed. I think you can see that this is a portfolio, yes? I need to get this live ASAP, and it’s just flat out unusable as it is because of the strange cropping. I just need the masonry layout on the homepage to work as it does in the demo. That is all. Please fix.
I did that as I said in my second reply and it DID NOT WORK. Please use the temporary login and see for yourself. I reverted the settings and used the regenerate thumbnails plugin and it DIDN’T WORK. I know I’m probably coming across like an asshole here but I just need you to revert it to the masonry layout for me please because this is incredibly frustrating and nothing is working. I sent the temporary login above please just use it and see for yourself how it doesn’t work.
Here’s a temporary login. Please fix this so that the masonry settings on my homepage are restored and it doesn’t ugly crop the thumbnails any more. This has been such a headache.
I tried putting the settings back to what they were originally and it’s not working. This has kind of ruined my front page by cropping all of my pictures strangely and done nothing to address the problem I brought up to you. Is there anything you can do to help me get it to go back to normal?
This solution affected the preview pictures on my homepage, not the gallery thumbnails on an individual portfolio page.
