    How can I add custom text / buttons / html to the top bar area?  The only place I see to change the information there is in the settings area allowing for the few pre-defined areas to be changed.  I wouldn’t even mind that if they didn’t automatically put an icon in there.

     

    Basically, I would like to put a client area link in the top bar

    You can achieve it by making topbar text to have links by using the child theme solution shared in the following topic.

    Yes, but is there a way to make it not show the icons next to them?

    Nevermind, I see the header file in the child theme to edit.  Thank you.

    I ended up just enabling the secondary menu in the functions.php and adding it to header2 file.
