    Hi Meredith,

    I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

    I have tested it on my test site and it is working fine for me as shown in the attached screenshot.

    Please make sure you are using latest version of PHP on your server by referring the information provided in the following pages.

    https://www.wikihow.com/Check-PHP-Version

    Also, please make sure that you are using the below latest version of the theme.

    Hi.

    Thanks for your reply. Have the latest version of PHP and am using the latest version of the theme.

    Regards

    Meredith

    Then please contact your webhost to know whether they are restricting it using firewall or anything else.

    You can also try fixing the 504 error as described in the below pages.

    Have contacted host and they replied with the following message:

    <div>
    <div class=””>
    <p class=””>Please be advised that we have further checked the case with our System Support team and they have confirmed that it is not a hosting-side issue. We suggest that you contact the Theme provider and verify this further.</p>

    </div>
    </div>

    Have tried importing again and still get the same message. Will now try your weblinks, although I’m tempted to ask for a refund.

    Would you mind if I log in to your site and do some troubleshooting? If this is ok then could you please temporary share me your site admin log in details privately by adding them in the box having text “Enter your private content here (only you and forum moderators will be able see it)”?

    That would be awesome. Thank you.

    I logged into your site and troubleshoot the issue which is happening because your WordPress file is being restricted to access on your server as displayed in the attached screenshot.

    Ok so what do I need to do now? I tried importing again but it still doesn’t work
    I’d like to import the attached Demo. If you are able to do this from your end I’d be very grateful.

    It’s your server error so your web host can resolve it.

    Do you have any other WordPress site hosted on a different server where we can import that demo data to confirm you it’s your web host issue?

    This is getting crazy!

    Here is a message from my host:

    In this regard, it might because the version of the Jevelin theme is not compatible with the default PHP settings on the server. To go about this, kindly contact your Theme provider again and ask for a lower version of the theme and try to install it again.

    Me: REALLY ??!!

    I asked: Before I contact my theme provider is it possible to upgrade the default PHP settings on the server?

    Their reply:

    As checked, the PHP limitations has been modified already. By any chance, will you be able to get the minimum requirements of the Theme.

    Hope this all makes sense.

    Regards,

    Meredith

    The theme doesn’t have any PHP version requirement but the WordPress itself needs PHP version 7.3 or greater as described in the below page so you have to make sure to use that version.

    I’ve been communicating back and forth with my domain host ‘Crazydomains’ for the last day. And as their name suggests, it’s been CRAZY!

    This was my last communication to their message:

    Dear Crazy,
    This is completely unsatisfactory. We are now going around in circles….
    <div>
    <div>How can Crazy Domains possibly provide WordPress hosting when it only goes up to PHP 7.2. WordPress needs PHP version 7.3 or greater (see attached screenshot).
    <div>Is it time for me to look for a new host?</div>
    <div>Regards,</div>

    <p class=””>Good Day!</p>
    <p class=””>Based on the error you have provided, the error is from the theme itself and we suggest you to contact the theme developers.<br class=”” />Even though we transfer you to WordPress Hosting, it will not work still and WordPress Hosting’s PHP version is only up to 7.2.</p>

    My host says that the site is now working on PHP 7.3 however I’m still getting error 504 when I try to import demo theme.

    Yes, I can see the PHP version is updated but the 504 error is still occurring on your site.

    You can fix the 504 error as described in the below pages.

    Solution for this topic

    OMG! It worked. Sorry for the trouble. I deactivated all plugins and only activated the necessary ones. So must have been a conflicting plugin.

    Thanks for your paience.

    Awesome great to see you got that worked.

    Please advise if you have more questions.

    Have a fantastic day!
