Hello again,
I have added a few custom fields to each of my projects in the portfolio. For example, I have added Location and Architect as custom fields. However, when I publish the site and then Search for a specific Location or Architect, the results show nothing found.

Thank you for your question.
By default WordPress search only searches portfolio content and not custom fields.
To make the custom fields searchable, you have to use search plugin such as following.
