    Hey there

    I’m trying to replicate the travel theme.

    1. How do I place the large hero image just about the 4 smaller scrolling images?
    2. How do I place the 3 category columns (Places, Gear Views) just underneath the hero image?
    3. How can I relocate and modify the full-width ‘subscribe for latest updates’ section?

    I’ve also noticed that using the editor, sometimes the changes happen instantly, sometimes they take about 20 minutes to occur. Is that something on my end?

    The website is expatspoland.com

    Thanks!

    Hi @phil.forbes,

    I hope you are well today and thank you for your questions.

    How do I place the large hero image just about the 4 smaller scrolling images?

    You can place it using Visual composer page builder “Blog Slider” content element.

    Please refer attached screenshot.

    How do I place the 3 category columns (Places, Gear Views) just underneath the hero image?

    You can place it using Visual composer page builder “Blog Posts Categories” content element.

    How can I relocate and modify the full-width ‘subscribe for latest updates’ section?

    Just edit the page and relocate and modify the full-width row containing ‘subscribe for latest updates’ section.

    I’ve also noticed that using the editor, sometimes the changes happen instantly, sometimes they take about 20 minutes to occur. Is that something on my end?

    Yes it seems you are using autoptimize cache on your shared site so after making changes you have to clear autoptimize cache to reflect the changes on your site.

    Best regards,
    Shufflehound team

    Great, thanks heaps!

    I’ve managed to figure out the ‘blog slider’ as the hero image as well as the category idea I mentioned.

    I have however lost the scrolling banner up the top as well as the subscription bar. What are these elements called in Visual Composer?

    Thanks!

    The scrolling banner up the top is created using Blog posts content element and the subscription bar is created using Heading & Text content element that contains shortcode created using following plugin.

    Can you tell me the exact name of the element that I should use? There are so many and none of them uses the name you mentioned. None of them let me upload an image for the background, like the Travel Blog demo.

    In which box do I paste the CSS code from the MailChimp app?

    I think the best thing for you to achieve this easily is by importing Travel demo content on any of your test or demo site then refer that page contents to create on your site.

    Please see https://support.shufflehound.com/installing-demo/

    Yep, been trying that for the last 2 hours and it just hangs. Tried deactivating and reactivating the theme and nothing. It just constantly sits on ‘Importing, please wait’.

    So now I can import the demo data, but I’m getting an error.

    Plus, the blog posts and layouts aren’t actually importing.

    Here’s the log file:

    And now my homepage is redirecting to the 404 page. Look, if we could get this sorted out ASAP, I’d be appreciative. This theme is slowly turning into a costly mistake.

    To resolve 404 issue please try resaving your site permalink settings.

    For other demo import related issues would you mind if I log in to your site and do some troubleshooting? If this is ok then could you please share me your site log in details privately by checking the option “Set as private reply” when replying to this topic?

    Sure.

    Thank you for sharing the site credentials.

    I logged into your site and confirmed the issue.

    This can be due to plugin conflict on your site so please try temporary deactivating all plugins except Unyson plugin and WpBakery page builder plugins and see whether everything works fine and then enable the plugins one by one to see which plugin is conflicting if any or use following plugin to check it.

    Also please make sure your WordPress files have proper permissions as described in the below pages.

    Im trying to import the theme now. It says it’s done but I have no pages, no blog posts, and the homepage looks as it did before.

    This is will all plugins disabled except the plugins required for the theme

    Ok I have notified the theme developer about this so that it will be fixed.

    The issue will be fixed ASAP.

    Any update on this? I’ve tried turning all plug ins off, only the required ones and importing other demo data. Blog posts and pages aren’t importing, that’s what I can figure out.

    A prompt resolution to this situation would be greatly appreciated, as I didn’t anticipate it taking 4 days to set up the demo data for a paid theme.

    Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

    It was working fine but runtime issue occurred causing it not to work.

    We are fixing the issue and resolve it soon.

    In the meanwhile if you need any help to manually setup it then we would be happy to help you.

    It’s not a matter of manually setting up, I just need this travel theme to work so I can customize it and get my own content set up and the customization working.

    The travel theme isn’t working, and until that is, there’s nothing that I can do.

    I have imported Travel demo content on your site now as shown in the attached screenshot.

    Could you please edit Home Travel page created on your site and configure it?

    Also configure the categories by adding them to posts.

    Hey there, thanks a lot

    The theme works now, I’ve got it where I need it to be and I’ll slowly work on cleaning out some plug ins.

    I’ve got a few finer formatting questions.

    1) On the homepage, how can I remove this white space?

    https://monosnap.com/file/ztgxZxZAWdoKRDuI3C8lfEU9F46NuJ

    It’s not the menu, but it’s also can’t be edited in WPBakery

    2) Further down the page in the category element, there’s a hero image that’s popped up for some reason. How can I remove this and make it look like the other two category lists?

    3) https://monosnap.com/file/1Q9lNwhXA2mHwkrMBp9UOr4ueMVBoD

    how do I change the image in the newsletter banner, and remove the white space above and below the instagram widget?

    thanks a lot 🙂

    It is displayed by CSS code that you can removet by adding the following CSS code in the Custom CSS code option of your theme on the below path.

    Admin Area -> Appearance -> Theme Settings -> Custom Code -> CSS Code

    .home #wrapper > .sh-page-layout-default {
        padding-top: 0;
    }

    https://monosnap.com/file/FshR9lJVds866EvOnZ3vFadHCt8k0y

    It was displaying because of the space added in the Blog post categories which I removed as shown in the attached screenshot.

    3) https://monosnap.com/file/1Q9lNwhXA2mHwkrMBp9UOr4ueMVBoD

    how do I change the image in the newsletter banner, and remove the white space above and below the instagram widget?

    You can change that image by editing the row and changing its background image as displayed in the second attached screenshot.

    Please use below custom CSS code to make these spaces smaller.

    .sh-footer .sh-footer-widgets {
        padding-top: 50px;
    }

    .sh-footer-instagram-title.sh-side-line {
        margin-top: 0;
    }
