the test was to <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>create a page, any page you want, publish it,</span>
<span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>not have it in the menu</span>
and then go to the normal blog, and see if the images are loading lazy,
was all this done?
can you please try on your end, to create a page, and do not assign this page to the menu,
then go to the main blog and see if your images are loading lazy?
the reason why i think its related, is because even if i go to this page, the images are not loading,
but on every blog post, the images are loading perfectly
1. how can i apply this font-display:swap, i want to see how google page insights reacts if we have this
2. why don’t use use font who has a fallback?
when you call in the plugin to simple-icons.ttf or eot you use css code that starts with
{font-face
in this clause, if you add this argument: font-display:swap before the }
then that would solve the google page insight message error issue:
https://css-tricks.com/almanac/properties/f/font-display/
developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/@font-face/font-display
i made a research that you can try on your end, to get rid of this error on google page insights as you see in the following link,
<p style=”direction: ltr;”>if you would change in your theme, where you call the simple-icons or the themify, under {font-face …………}</p>
{font-face …………;font-display:swap}
then the error doesn’t show on google page insights
i am trying to edit, so these fonts will be served from the cdn and not from the local machine
how are you sure its also served on the front page of http://www.saveatrain.com/blog/
i tried to find trace of footer.php in my edit source and couldn’t find
in what directory these files sitting?
secondly so i can try to change it the links, what file shall i edit?
can you mark me on http://www.saveatrain.com/blog/ what are these icons that you refer to please?
then do you have a different explanation of why images don’t work on
https://www.saveatrain.com/blog/
and images does work on
to clarify, on this page wp_footer() is active – https://www.saveatrain.com/blog/tips-traveling-pregnant/
on this page its not , hope you can fix it quickly – https://www.saveatrain.com/blog/
i spoke to auto-optimize they are saying its wp_footer bug on the theme:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/homepage-issue-or-bug/#post-12744388
try to go to this link:
and search for “ensure text remains visible”, for some reason their is a issue with the fonts loading, you can also try it on your own jevelin page
it could be related to these fonts not having cache definitions in the code, as you can see in this link of page insights:
https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.saveatrain.com%2Fblog%2Flondon-paris-train%2F&tab=desktop

body.page #content > .page-featured-image {
display: none;
}
i updated it and it still shows the feature image on:
this is not a good solution, since when you share the link on twitter, you do need a featured image,
the only thing i ask is that on pages, the image will not open WHEN YOU OPEN THE LINK, go to http://www.saveatrain.com/blog/timezone/ and see that before the text you see a large image and that is not a good customer experience
there should be an option to not show featured image on the page it self on pages or in blogs, and let the site owner decide
ok now i understand, so i download snippets and change there and it overwrite thats written in the theme
what happens if you update the code of the theme, so basically if it doesn’t find the original, then it won’t replace anything?
thx for the help
