I am trying to set up a page with 4 columns of multiple buttons in each column.

The buttons should be in ABC order (which I will create)  from left to right, then top to bottom.

When I set it up this way, the buttons are in the correct order while at desktop width. When the page is at mobile width, however, they move to a single column (which is correct), but they go in the wrong order.
