After updating the theme, clicking any of the links from the portfolio projects result in a 404 error.

Sorry to hear of the problem you are having.
Please try resaving your site permalink settings in your site admin area.
Also you can try resetting your site htaccess file as described in the following pages.

Shufflehound teamThere is another issue.with the Jevelin theme update. The homepage fails to load properly in Safari 9.1.2. There is only the header and navigation and none of the navigation works. However, everything loads and works as expected using Chrome.
Could you please update safari browser to latest version and test it?
Here is a screenshot from the latest version Safari 11. The home page does not load completely and the links are dead.
You can try resolving the issue by adding the following CSS code in the Custom CSS code option of your theme on the below path.
Admin Area -> Appearance -> Theme Settings -> Custom Code -> CSS Code
