Using the Alex Photon demo.
Prior to switching to multi-site mode, portfolio category links worked perfectly throughout, targeting this URL:
http://jevelin10.local/portfolio-cat/example-portfolio-category/
After switching to multi-site (sub-domain) mode, WordPress has altered the path that should be followed to this:
http://jevelin10.local/blog/portfolio-cat/example-portfolio-category/
Note that “/blog” has been added.
However, Jevelin has not updated the portfolio category links, so they all still point to the old URL, producing a 404 error.
Also note that I have not yet added any other site. Although multi-site is enabled, I’m still working on the main/original site, which worked perfectly prior to enabling multi-site.
As I’m not a web developer, I’m using ChatGPT to help me with this. Guided by the AI, I’ve tried altering the functions.php file, as well as the .htaccess file. No luck with any of the AI suggested fixes.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
