    I created a new home page and made the current one in draft form so I could have a “hold page” active while working on the site. But I just get a 404 page.

    Here is the quick edit view of the page. I set it to Main page, no parent.

    Sorry to hear of the problem you are having.

     

    Please try resaving permalink settings.

     

    Could you please share me the page URL from your site so that i can troubleshoot it?
