When I am truing to edit a page on the back end the normal module that allowed me to edit is gone? Can you please advise?

Just try clicking on the Classic Edit link as displayed in the attached screenshot.

We have tried that but the same doesn’t display the previous normal format (please refer to the screenshot). Can you please advise further as how we could go back to the standard javelin editor?

I am not sure what you are referring to as “standard javelin editor” but If you want to use WordPress classic editor then you can enable it by using the solutions as described in the below pages.
