When clicking in empty search field below exception gets thrown.
I noticed the same not just on my website but also in your template demos

Sorry to hear of the problem you are having.
I don’t see the issue on our demo site as shown in the attached screenshot.
Could you please share me the site URL where it’s happening so that i can troubleshoot it?
Also please test it on different browser.

It seems the search field is displaying previously searched terms in the dropdown and it is not error.
