Home › Forums › Gillion Theme › Show only specific categories
Hello,
I would like to show only specific categories of blog posts in my “blog” (template) page.
I have already limited categories to specific ones in “Blog Category” in Page settings in the bottom, but they are still here.
Here: http://foreplay.si/eroticne-zgodbice/
I should have the last version of the template.
I would not want to show the first three posts (categories). Categories are: “forum”, “eroticne zgodbice” and “trgovina”.
Thank you
Solution for this topic
Hi @blog69,
I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.
I logged in to your site and removed the Blog page set in the site reading settings and set Blog template to the page.
Could you please check whether it is working fine now?
Best regards,
Shufflehound team
Hello,
I can confirm that it’s working now, yes. Thank you.
I hope nothing breaks with not set blog page set.
Kind regards, Tim
Yes nothing will break.
You are most welcome here 🙂
Hello,
If I remove “Blog page set” on the blog posts page, the pagination does not work. Could you help me with that please?
BTW, I have changed the URL of page
Kind regards, Tim

Hi there,
Thank you for you login data, we could access your site successfully.
Can you please give us more specifics about your issue, like what exactly isn’t working?
Hello,
I have solved pagination, but I still have problem with showing specific categories. I would like to show only some of them.
Kind regards, Tim
Nice to hear that you manged to solve pagination issue.
About specific categories, which ones you want to show? We want to test it.
Hello,
I would like to show only the ones that are already there.
I have set the specific categories option in blog settings in page edit page.
List of them:
Dekleta, Dogodki, Drkanje, Fafanje, Fantazije, Fantje, Galerije, Gay, Homemade slike, Knjige, Ljubezen, Poezija, Pohota, Prispevki bralcev, Sex, Sex zvoki, Solo, Varanje
Did I set something wrong?
Kind regards, Tim
Hi there,
Looks like there were issues with your blog page as our changed options didn’t do anything. But when we created a new page your-site/blog-2/ there everything seems working just fine, can you confirm that?
Best regards,
Shufflehound team
Hello,
If I do that, I have other problem…
If I put reading settings “Posts page” to empty, than sidebar is not right (it should be for blog posts page, but it is for pages).
Kind regards, Tim
We can understood that, but the issue with “Posts page” option is that it removes Template: “Blog”. We will add this to our to-do list / try to make it working and let you know, when the issue is fixed.
Hello,
Thank you for your kindness.
If you are already doing that, could you maybe add “sort posts by random”? It would take few lines of code, and it would make me and definately all other customers reallly happy 🙂
Pleaseeee 🙂
Thank you very much!
Kind regards, Tim
You’re welcome. 🙂
Where exactly would you like to see this option added?
Hello,
It would be good, if it would be in:
I attached 2 screenshots how do I see that implemented for end user.
I like widget with 2 tab options – it would be nice if I could sort it by random. But not only that widget – any widget.
It should not take too much time to do it – random posts are pretty easy to build 🙂
Thank you, kind regards, Tim
Thank you for your detailed explanation.
We will also add this to our to-do list and will let you know when this feature will be ready. 🙂
We have added this feature in the following theme version so please try using it.

Hello,
I would like to confirm, that “random posts” works well. Thank you for that.
But there is one more thing. I still have problem on “Posts page”.
If I set it in reading settings in wordpress, I don’t get the random and specific posts, and if I don’t set it, I don’t get the right widget.
Kind regards, Tim
