I have purchased the Gillion theme but having trouble getting the right settings to make it look like one of your demos:

We would like that layout with a large image and links to blog posts.
Are you able to point me in the right direction please!

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.
The easiest way to create that page is to import Creative Slider demo content as displayed in the attached screenshot and then just edit the imported content.

I have done that- and managed to do some customization of the theme to meet our needs.
Great tip.
One problem remains- in the slider any posts I had (or old ones too) with a featured image do not lead into the slider.
The sample ones work fine and if I change the Featured Image on an existing Blog then it does display- even if it is the same image I have tried ona new blog or my existing ones. So I have ruled out it being the images.
I am therefore missing a setting in the blogs that needs to be on- I have compared an imported one to a new one and cannot see anything that is any different.
All help appreciated.

I am not sure I understood your question properly so could you please explain it a bit more in detail by sharing the screenshots and your site URL where it is displaying?

Sure.
This is the URL:
A new blog is the newest and the slider does not show the featured image in the background- if you select the second one “how to climb the career latter” you will see the background appears ( this is one oof the sample imported ones)- one I have changed the Featured image for is called “The No1 Travel Mistake” and the background changes in the slider when selected.
So the imported ones use the Featured Image as the background in the slider- mine do not whether it be an old blog or even when I add a new one since the theme was applied.

I managed to overcome the above problem with a bit of troubleshooting- it would appear to be something amiss with where the iamges are stored. I have found if I edit every image I want to use as the Featured Image then they load fine.
Result.
However I now have a different problem!
The home page content is not loading blogs down the right hand panel and there does not appear to be anything within the Home-Creative Slider page that I can change to fix this!
Any pointers?
Fixed that one too! Sorry. Looks like the original theme had a filter set for the blogs to display on the home page.
I have removed them and now I have content!!
