    My website is working however it won’t allow me to edit the store page any longer. It says “This page can not be edited with WPBakery since it is missing a WordPress default content area.” When I select the link to a solution it states to contact the theme builder to ask when an update will be available and if the new update would be compatable with the current version of woocommerce?

    Hello,

     

    That does look a bit unusual. Please first make sure the theme is updated to the latest version. If it already is, it’s hard to say what could be causing this, as we haven’t seen this issue reported before.

     

    That said, we can definitely take a closer look. If you’re comfortable doing so, please share temporary login details via the Private Information field and we’ll take a closer look and try to find what might cause this.

    We have done some testing on your site and would like to clarify a few things to better understand the situation:

    1. You mentioned that you can no longer edit the shop page. Were you previously able to edit this same page using WPBakery?
    2. Did the shop page layout or content look different before, or has it always been displayed as it is now?

     

    From what we can see, the page is currently set as the WooCommerce shop page and is using a theme-based layout. When a page is assigned as the WooCommerce shop page, editing options can be limited, as WooCommerce controls the content output.

     

    As a workaround, if you need full control with WPBakery, you can create a new regular page and design it freely, then use it for custom shop-related content, while keeping the default WooCommerce shop page for product listings.

    Yes, I was able to edit the page before I transferred it to my new domain. Since the transfer I have been unable to edit it. It was originally built on: see private info field.

    2. Did the shop page layout or content look different before, or has it always been displayed as it is now?

    Yes, I built it as a custom page that didn’t showcase categories, just the products in the woo commerce store. How can I change it back to how it was built?

    Hello,

     

    Thank you for clarifying. This happens because the page is currently assigned as the WooCommerce Shop page, and that template output is controlled by WooCommerce, which is why WPBakery shows the “missing default content area” notice.

     

    Fastest workaround:

    • Go to Pages, open your current Shop page, rename it (for example to “Shop Old”), and change its slug/link (for example to shop-old) so the shop slug becomes available.
    • Create a new page, name it “Shop”, set its slug to shop, and build it with WPBakery as needed.

    This notice is not directly related to the WPBakery editing issue. However, it should be resolved by updating to our latest beta version, which includes updated WooCommerce template files.

     

    You can install the latest beta theme version from below and check if the notice disappears:

    It says, “You need to purchase gillion theme to download it (please notify support if you have purchased this theme license)” I have purchased the theme but the name isn’t aligning.
