  • Hey, so I just learned about the importance of using child themes…waaaaay too late. I’ve done a lot of updating to my website. So my question is, if I install the Jevelin Child Theme now and update my Jevelin Parent…how much of my site would I lose? Can you guys help me minimize damages? Or will I basically have to rebuild my site?

You can view the site at http://www.christianhemmefineart.com

    Hi @yeahitsahemme,

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

First of all before making any changes please take full backup of your site from Tools ->   Backup

If you have not made any changes in the theme files then you can just use the child theme and configure some settings like menu, widgets etc. that may get lost.

If you have made any changes in the theme files then you have to move those changes in the child theme files before using child theme.

If you are not a developer then you can consider hiring a developer to do it for you. You can hire a developer from any freelance site. Shufflehound recommends the developer https://www.upwork.com/freelancers/~011652ffec8865c6d5

    Best regards,
    Shufflehound team

Thank you, I will look at that developer!

You are most welcome here 🙂
