The problem with those options is by picking a ‘vertical’ ad, you are forced to pick a formatted size like 300 x 600, there isn’t even an option for 300 x 250. With Newspaper or Bridge, you add in the responsive code and you see a variety of sizes… 300 x 600 and 300 x 250
I have ran this Adsense script with Newspaper theme as well as Bridge theme for a few years and have NEVER had a problem. When setting up a ‘responsive’ ad within Google… there is NO such thin as a responsive “vertical” ad.
Its like the widget does not show a minimum size of 300 x 250 banners
