    Hi team,

Good day to all. I need your help with child theme.

I installed jevelin – parent and child theme.

I’m trying to  modify the following view.php file –

    framework-customizations\extensions\shortcodes\shortcodes\portfolio\views\view.php

However, when i edit the code and place it in the child theme folder in the exact path along with the other files in that folder, the changes does not reflect in the main site.

The edit works if I do it in the parent theme file.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi @ptw,

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

Would you mind if I log in to your site and do some troubleshooting to see why it is not working for you? If this is ok then could you please temporary share me your site admin log in details privately by adding them in the box having text “Enter your private content here (only you and forum moderators will be able see it)”?

    Best regards,
    Shufflehound team

    Yes sure.

Line #386, I have commented it in parent theme’s file.

if its enabled, you can see the links in description on portfolio items in home page.

I have enabled the line in child theme. But its not working

I logged into your site and saw you have just overwritten portfolio view.php file but instead you have to overwrite all the files added in the below portfolio directory.

    \framework-customizations\extensions\shortcodes\shortcodes\portfolio\

    Hi,

I tried doing what you told. But still no luck. I copied the entire portfolio folder from the parent them and put it into the child theme folder. Modified the file to  my needs. But it doesn’t work still.

You can use the same login again if you wanna have a look.

    Thank you

I could confirm the issue on my test site therefore notified the theme developer about this so that it will be fixed.

The issue will be fixed ASAP

In the meanwhile you can directly make changes in the parent theme files.

Has this been fixed yet? I am in the same exact boat.

With every update to parent theme, my child theme customizations are still ignored. Has this been fixed yet?

It is not fixed yet but I have notified the theme developer to fix soon.
