    Hi there, I cannot seem to get the google map to show anything else apart from a gray box (it does mention: “use CTRL+scroll to zoom the map” but nothing else).

    NB: I did create a google API in console and inserted it in template settings. On the google map settings (I use WPBakery) I have tried to insert different things such as address or Lat/Long alone or in combination and also played around with different custom zoom setting, but nothing seems to help.

    Please advice…

    Hi @ReinierJevelin,

    I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

    Would you mind if I log in to your site and access it to troubleshoot the issue? If this is ok then could you please temporary share me your site admin login details privately by adding them in the box having text “Enter your private content here (only you and forum moderators will be able see it)”?

    Best regards,
    Shufflehound team

    Did you just receive this message? If not, here it is again (in private info field):

    I logged into your site and saw the below error message is displaying in the browser console so please resolve the issue to make it work.

    ok thanks – I have just changed the google console settings. Does it work now?

    Now, I am getting the below error message in the browser console so please resolve it.

    Google Maps JavaScript API error: RefererNotAllowedMapError
    https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#referer-not-allowed-map-error
    Your site URL to be authorized: http://yoursite.nl/nl/

    Ok just adjusted for that. Also for …nl/en/ extension for english version. Still no map on site though?

    Now again I am getting the below error in the browser console.

    Geocoding Service: This API project is not authorized to use this API. For more information on authentication and Google Maps JavaScript API services please see: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key

    Could you please check it yourself in the browser console until all the issues get resolved?

    In Chrome go to “Tools -> Developer Tools” and in Firefox you can go to “Tools -> Web Developer -> Console”

    Find information about how to open JavaScript browser console :

    Solution for this topic

    Thanks, it is resolved now. Short description on how I got to solution, thanks to your pionters:

    • realised I had only created the Google Maps Javacript API, and failed to also activate the Geocoding API, as the template uses an address to convert to lat/long;
    • subsequently needed to activate/create a billing account within Console, as this is needed for the geocoding API apparently;
    • and finally adjusted the API restrictions within google console on the URLs of my site – where I noticed (with help from looking in developer toolbox in sidebar on site) I needed to allow various homepage URL extensions (for each language different URL and /#backtotop identifier also.
    • fixed!

    Thanks again, this one can be closed. Cheers.

    Awesome great to see you got that resolved.

    You are most welcome here 🙂

    Have a fantastic day!
