Currently we have build our main page with sections for mobile and desktop.

    However,

When the AMP plugin is activated we lose all of our mobile sections.  When it is deactivated we lose speed.

What is the best way to build the main page so that we have a responsive layout that loads both mobile and desktop versions quickly with the amp or lazy loading plugin enabled.

Also, we have specified Lazy Loading “ON” in the theme settings but pagespeed insights returns a score of 95 on desktop and 49 on mobile, and  that images are not being lazy loaded.

    Please help.

    Hi @davey1975,

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

There can be various other reasons why your site is loading slow as described in the following pages.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the quick response.

However, this is not what I’m asking.

    When AMP plugin is activated:

The main images on the mobile version do not show on a phone until you turn the phone to landscape mode.  Then all of the images appear.

Do you know what could be causing this?

    Thanks,

    D

I am not sure why this is happening for you.

This can be due to the misconfiguration of AMP settings.

Have you tried changing AMP mode in the AMP plugin settings?

Also, this can be due to plugin conflict on your site so please try temporarily deactivating all plugins except Unyson, AMP,  Redux framework, and WpBakery page builder plugins and see whether everything works fine and then enable the plugins one by one to see which plugin is conflicting if any.

    An update on this issue.

Seems that the background images in the sections created by Unyson will not Lazy Load.

What is a possible solution to getting the background images to lazy load.

I would guess this could be done with css.  Just can’t find it within all of the css stylesheets.

Any help would be appreciated because if the section backgrounds would lazy load the mobile version of the site would greatly improve page speed.

I don’t find any option to do this. Also, the Unyson plugin is getting outdated so we are in the process to replace it with redux.

the issue of background images not loading in AMP version is common.

The Jevelin theme must be updated to include an img class with background images so AMP will load the backgrounds.

I have forwarded your suggestion to the theme developer so that it will be implemented in the future version of the theme.
