I have just been into the backend of my WordPress site which is using Jevelin theme and have lost the capability to edit some of the blocks I was using.
For example, my website is http://www.peakva.co.uk and on the homepage I wanted to update the Customer Review block which is towards the bottom of the page.
However, instead of being able to edit it using the simple editing features, it’s now showing a load of code. Which as someone who is not a coder, I’m unable to use! I have attached screen grabs of examples of this and other blocks that have now lost the simple editing function.
I contacted WP Bakery thinking it was an issue with that, but they have indicated it is the theme. Their response is below:
“The issue is because the older visual composer (now WPBakery Page Builder) was modified by the theme author by customizing the existing elements and adding the new one’s. Now when you updated it, the customization made by the theme author was lost which causes the issue. You can check it with the theme author if there is any way to preserve the customization done by him with the latest version, so that such an issue can be avoided at your end.”
Please can someone advise on the problem and whether it can be rectified? This is only a new build so I don’t want to have to do it all again in a different template.
Thanks in advance
Just in addition, elements that I had been using are now not available and I think this is why the code is showing up in certain blocks. So where before there was a Header Animation element that I could drop in, this is now no longer listed. The same for the Customer Review/Testimonial block.
Thanks, hope that helps.
Hi @p3akva,
I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.
Could you please tell me which version of WPBakery page builder plugin you are using?
Also, please see the below topic and try using the older version of WPBakery page builder.
Best regards,
Shufflehound team
Thank you, that appears to have resolved the situation and everything is back to how it should be.
Sorry, actually it hasn’t. It’s resolved it on the homepage but randomly not on my About page for some reason. Any ideas?
I can see the About Us page https://peakva.co.uk/about/ is displaying fine on your site.
Please advise.
