Hello, trying to update a site simply for PHP sake… from 7.4 to 8.2 or as current as it gets to avoid any more menacing/sadistic update curveballs for the forseeable future. Is there any way to band-aid Unyson platform so that the entire site doesn’t need to be bulldozed with that brilliant Redux switcharoo? I can not update http://wingmanfx.com to PHP 8.2 from 7.4 & we’ve done quite a bit of backdoor acrobatics to save the world. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much. Rock and/or Roll.

Unfortunately, there’s no stable workaround to keep using Unyson under PHP 8.2. The only reliable approach is to gradually rebuild your pages in WPBakery Page Builder and then fully disable Unyson once all content is moved. The issue comes from Unyson’s outdated codebase, which can’t be patched directly from the theme side.
If your site was originally based on one of our demos, you can reimport it using WPBakery demo content and rebuild the layout section by section. If needed, we can also assist with the rebuild as a paid service.

Ouch. Thanks so much…for all this. Would your generosity extend to possibly giving this site a longer period of updates in the future? Or some sort of grandfathered mercy rule lol? As, if our site was purchased years ago (2017) in good faith, it would really be quality if we were able to get support – without this complete rebuild as a paid service as stated, maybe with an extra 20 to 40 days of updatable fortune lol? We look forward to rebuilding our site in haste. Party on Wayne.

We understand the frustration, and Unyson becoming unusable was a major issue for us as well. At the time, it was a very promising framework, and its discontinuation was outside of our control.
Rather than abandoning the theme or releasing a new one, we invested significant time and resources to adapt it for the future. This included creating a new theme options panel, adding full WPBakery support, porting most Unyson elements, recreating the demo content using WPBakery and more.
There is no need to worry about updates, as the theme will continue to receive updates even after the support period ends, since updates and support are handled separately.
Unyson is no longer maintained and cannot be made compatible with PHP 8.2 in a stable way. Rebuilding content outside of Unyson is the only reliable path forward. If questions arise during the process, we can assist with guidance.
