    Hi ,

Because of the aging Unyson plugin, we are finally make up our mind to rebuild our website away from Unyson. I have read through all the post about Unyson on this forum and know there is no tool to make the conversion automatically and we are fine with doing it page by page.

Before the rebuild I like to make sure we are not doing something stupid that will damage our working website. Please kindly answer the following question what we know what to expect when doing the rebuild.

    1. can the Unyson framework co-exist with the Redux framework?
    2. if yes, how do I chose which framework to use of a new page?
    3. for builder for Redux framework there is choice of WPBakery Page Builder and Elementor Page Builder are the page built by one of these builder can be edited by the other builder and vice versa?
    4. if Unyson framework can’t be co-exist with Redux, what are the steps to rebuild an site that is running.

    Hello,

Great questions, we understand this process can be a bit confusing. Here’s a breakdown to help clarify:

    • Yes, Unyson and Redux can technically coexist, but having both active may impact performance slightly.
    • Just to clarify, Unyson includes its own page builder, while Redux is only used for theme settings. It doesn’t include a page builder itself.
    • With Redux, you can use either WPBakery Page Builder or Elementor, but we recommend using WPBakery, as Elementor support in the theme is only partial and may be limited in some areas.
    • If you’re moving away from Unyson:
      • You can use the migration tool found in the theme panel to move settings from Unyson to Redux.
      • However, any content built with Unyson’s page builder will need to be rebuilt manually using WPBakery or Elementor.

We hope this helps you plan your rebuild more smoothly.

    Best regards,

    Thanks for the tips.

When both frameworks are installed, after I added a new page, do I get to choose which framework (Unyson / Redux) to be used?

For an existing page (built on Unyson), it will be opened automatically by the Unyson editor, right? the last thing I want is to mess up existing pages while rebuilding.

    Hello,

Just to clarify – Redux is only used for theme and page settings, not for editing page content itself. After you install both frameworks, you can switch to Redux by going to Jevelin > Framework Upgrade and following the steps there. This process will migrate most of your theme options and settings, but since it’s a one-way process, we recommend creating a full backup beforehand.

    As for page editing:

    • Existing pages built with Unyson will still open with the Unyson builder.
    • New pages will use whichever builder you start with, for example, WPBakery if that’s your choice.
    • Nothing will be changed automatically or overwritten unless you do so manually.

Also, if your site was originally built using a demo, you might consider importing that same demo using the WPBakery version, which can save time and effort when rebuilding.

Hope that clears things up! 🙂

    Best regards,

    Shufflehound Team
