I want to create a simple image gallery, but I do not want a slider.  I just want the images to be displayed as they are on the portfolio, as a grid or masonry layout.

I can achieve the look I want using the portfolio and setting the style to gallery and turning off the page link (if I am just adding an image, the link to the portfolio detail page is completely unnecessary).  However, if I do this, only the featured image opens in the lightbox, not the project gallery.

If I just upload the featured image to the project and leave the project gallery alone, I feel as though it is a very wasteful way of doing things especially since I often will not add a title and the portfolio effectively creates a new page for each image.

So basically, I want to be able to use the gallery rather than the portfolio, but don’t want to show a title for the image (if it has one) and want them all displayed on the page in grid or masonry layout (like the portfolio) without the slider.

It seems to be a vital element missing from the theme and I don’t really want to have to install yet another plugin to get around it.

    Hi @babyewok,

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

Could you please share me the page URL from your site where it is displaying and tell me exactly what changes you want to make on them so that I can help you to achieve it?

    Best regards,

Thanks for the reply. The site is still in development on my local server. I suppose the first step is how can I disable the carousel slider for the unyson gallery… See here: https://jevelin.shufflehound.com/elements/image-gallery/

It is slider image gallery so the slider will work which we can’t disable but we can disable autoplay as shown in the attached screenshot.

So there is no way that I can disable the slider completely via the code so that I can style the gallery as I want via css?

To achieve this, you have to develop custom code in the child theme of Jevelin theme.

Developing custom code for custom functionality is beyond the scope of support that we provide here. Please see https://themeforest.net/item/jevelin-multipurpose-premium-responsive-wordpress-theme/14728833/support

If you are not a developer then you can consider hiring a developer to develop it for you. You can hire a developer from any freelance site. Shufflehound recommends the developer https://www.upwork.com/freelancers/~011652ffec8865c6d5
