Hi there,
I transferred a website I developed from my server to a client’s server. Mine was a linux server and the client’s a windows server. Now, after i moved it i encountered a couple of challenges of which the ones I couldn’t still resolve are:
- I’m unable to upload photos now. It shows the error ‘The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads’
- The only way all pages (except the homepage) works is if i keep the page permalink to ‘plain’ format where it generates a page id, instead of being able to keep the page name. When i keep the permalinks on the ‘day and name’ format (which is how it was before i moved the website), it now shows a 404 (page not found) error.
I need to upload photos, as well as have each page go by its respective name instead of a page id. Please help me rectify the error as soon as possible.

Sorry to hear of the problem you are having.
On your new server please make sure you have set proper file permissions to WordPress files as described on the following pages.
