    Hi,

     

    I just recently purchased the Gilion theme. I wanted to import the demo version, because this makes the building process a lot faster and easier.

     

    However, whenever I try to install the required (!) plugins, I get this message:

    But in order to update the plugin I need to BUY it first. Really I am quite frustrated by this. I just purchased a theme, and in order for it to function normally I need to make another purchase? Had you mentioned this before I would have never bought this theme, as it literally doubles the costs.

     

    I don’t know what to do now with this purchase. Just wanted to get this off my chest.

    Hi Nikkie,

     

    I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

     

    You don’t need to purchase the WPBakery plugin as it comes bundled with the theme and you can install it from Appearance ->  Install Plugins

     

    Please note that you are using the plugin bundled with the theme therefore you are not direct customer of that plugin and cannot update that plugin until you purchase it.

    We update the plugin with every new theme version. In this case you can just delete old plugin version and reinstall latest plugin version bundled with theme from Appearance ->  Install Plugins

    I read the info, but I still don’t know what to do though. I cannot install the plugin from Appearance > Install plugin, as it says

    Please make sure that you are using the below latest version of theme and have not already installed the WPBakery plugin then try to install the plugin from Appearance ->  Install Plugins

    If you are still facing the issue then would you mind if I log in to your site and do some troubleshooting? If this is ok then could you please temporary share me your site admin login details privately by adding them in the box having text “Enter your private content here (only you and forum moderators will be able see it)”?

    Has WP Bakery updates their plugin again?

     

    I deleted my old theme and installed the new version, but now again I get the following message:

    Oops, yes of course. Sorry.

     

     

    I could confirm the issue on your shared site but it is getting installed on my test site as shown in the attached screenshot.

     

    On your site, I am getting the error “Download failed. Unavailable For Legal Reasons” as shown in the second attached screenshot which seems webhost related issue.

     

    Which webhost are you using?

     

    Could you please ask your webhost to know whether there is any restriction to install a plugin from third party server?

    I asked my hosting provider (Neostrada) but they said they don’t have any restrictions whatsoever, and are therefore not responsible for the error given.

     

    Is there a new update available yet? Maybe that could help.

     

    Do you have any other site where we can troubleshoot and test it?

     

    If not then could you please create a test or development site?

    I logged into your shared site but couldn’t activate the Gillion theme so could you please activate it on your site?

    I tested it on a different website of mine, and it worked. The WP Bakery plugin installed. See info.

    Do you mean the issue resolved for you or is it resolved on some sites and not others?

     

    Could you please describe it a bit more?

    I meant that downloading the plugin worked on my other website, but still not on the other domain. Therefore, it’s not a hosting issue.

     

    In other words: the issue is still not resolved.

    But if it is working on one website and not on another then it is also not a theme issue so this seems the issue related to your WordPress installation.

    Do you know what might be the problem? Because I have no idea. I have the newest version of WordPress installed.
