Hello Shufflehound,
I just updated plugins on the site including Jevelin / WPBakery / Elementor, and now the two have a conflict. I know that WPBakery isn’t the newest version (7.0), but when I try to edit my Elementor pages, I get an error saying that the theme is not calling the “get_content” function. If I disable one, the other works. My homepage is setup with WPBakery, but used Elementor with all other pages because the options I needed for my pages.
Elementor says: If you are a web developer and are developing a theme, add the_content function into the page template’s code. This is the line you need to add: <?php the_content(); ?> I
I tried this in a few spots, but it either broke the theme or didn’t do anything. If I activate both, any Elementor elements on pages just disappear, but reappear if WP is not active. Not sure if it’s because it’s an old version of WP or something else is happening.
I know this isn’t a plugin you all support, but things were working together fine until this new update. I tried recreating the homepage, but it just is very clunky. I’m not sure if this is something that could be a quick fix.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! I have done as much troubleshooting as I can do without scraping my entire homepage and rethinking it.
Site: https://lockquests.com/ (if you go to any of the posts, all the tables, images, etc. are no longer there). Attached is the error I get if I activate Elementor
Thanks!
Matt
Hi there,
That is strange, we are sure that we have that PHP snippet in our page files.
Can you please let us know which theme version are you using?
Best regards,
Shufflehound team
Looks like 5.7 – I just updated when I went into my panel yesterday (along with WP and Elementor)
Thoughts?
Currently either my homepage is broken or the rest of the entire website.
Hi there,
Can you please try our latest beta version below?
We found one issue that might be related to the issue you are seeing.

Hey, it looks like I still am unable to edit my post pages with Elementor.
Additionally, all the elements I utilize with Elementor are stripped away on the pages, which is a big piece of the content on those posts, so almost nothing is displayed on individual pages.
Still getting the ‘call’ function error – and unable to edit with Elementor at all.
I know that WPBakery within this theme is not the most up to date either, so not sure if that has anything to do with it, as this only happened on the newest update.
Hi there,
Sorry for our late response.
We spent some time debugging this issue but were unable to replicate it on our end.
Perhaps updating the WPBakery Page Builder could help? The latest beta version of our theme includes the most recent WPBakery version. After updating the theme, you can find it under Appearance > Install Plugins.

Hopefully that helps.
