I see there’s a ‘Blog Widgets’ and ‘Page Builder Widgets’ section for the sidebar, and the homepage and blog posts have their own set. I’d like them to match and be the same, without making the same changes on both each time there’s an update. Is there a setting that will allow the theme to only use one global sidebar?

At the moment we don’t have such an option, because usually widget options isn’t changed too frequently.
