    Hi,

we’re using the portfolio fancy on our start page and have two questions:

    1. It seems there is a maximum amount (8 incl. “All”) of portfolio categories which are displayed as filtering options. (see Screen1)
I’ve tried to find an option where this could be limited but I didn’t found it.
Can you help me with that?
    2. When moving with the mouse over a portfolio item in the portfolio fancy menu, the sort order of portfolio categories is alphabetical.
      (See Screen2)
Can this be adjusted, as we want to have categories which have the parent category “Brand” should be always the first ones ?

    Thanks and kind Regards
    Simon

    Hello,

Could you please share a link to the page where the Portfolio Fancy element is used? This will help us review your setup and understand the behavior more clearly.

Regarding the maximum number of visible categories, we do not recall setting a hard limit of 8 specifically in the theme, so this may be related to default WordPress behavior or the way categories are queried in this element. Once we see the page, we can verify this.

As for the category order on hover, categories are currently output in alphabetical order by default. There is no built in option to change this or prioritize parent categories. It may be possible to adjust the visual order using custom CSS, but this would require creating styling.

    Hello,

Thank you for sharing the link.

To properly investigate both the category limit and the category ordering behavior in the Portfolio Fancy element, we would need to take a closer look at the setup from the admin side. Would it be possible for you to provide temporary WordPress admin access via the private information field? This will allow us to debug it more efficiently and see what can be adjusted.

    Best regards,

    Hello,

    Sorry for the late reply.

Many theme users provide login details only temporarily and remove them later, and some also manage multiple websites with different access credentials. We just wanted to make sure we still have the correct access before proceeding.

It seems the link we previously had is no longer accessible on our side. Could you please share the updated link?

    Best regards,

    Hello,

Thank you for the updated link and access. I was able to log in successfully.

I’ve checked the Portfolio Fancy element on the homepage and I can now see around 14 brand categories displayed in the filter, so it looks like the previous limit of 8 is no longer present. Could you please confirm if this part is now resolved?

Regarding the portfolio item – hover categories order, we had idea adjusting the visual order with CSS like inverting the order, after testing more it doesn’t seem to fully fix it. The only reliable solution would be to modify the element’s backend code. Unfortunately, this type of customization falls outside the support scope.

Regarding the private information field, since it is an additional field attached to the reply, a main message must also be entered for the reply to be submitted successfully. If the main message area is left empty, the private information may not be saved or sent.

    Best regards,
    Shufflehound team

    Hi support,

you might have not noticed, that we have way more than 14 categories. In total we have 28 categories which have articles assigned to it.

Besides that the shown categories differ from time to time, we were not sure how this is controlled.
The current situation is really frustrating, as it shows categories more or less on a random basis.

We don’t want to have a specific number of categories like 8 or 28, we want to have a reliable configuration which either shows all categories which have articles assigned to it or control the categories which can be displayed.

    How can this be achieved?

    Kind Regards
    Simon
