    Hi,

Please advise on how to remove the links associated with the author name on the recent posts widget and the project category on the project details page (see attached). I want to show the text (so I can’t simply hide with CSS), but I don’t want to navigate the user or search engine to a page.

Note, the author name is also linked on the blog entry page as well. Similarly, I want to show the text, but not have it be linked.

I have the child theme installed, just need guidance on what changes to make where.

    Thanks!

    Jon

    Hi there,

Have you tried to tur off both “Author (without image) + Date” and “Author (with image) + Date” options under the Jevelin Settings > Blog?

    That might help.

    Best regards,

    Shufflehound team

I don’t see those options under Theme Settings > Blog. (See attachment.)

Also, that wouldn’t address the project categories.

    Please advise.

Sorry for that, in the latest beta version we have added option to hide the author. The option is called Post Author and is located under Jevelin Settings > Blog:

About the project categories, do you want to just hide the categories?

I installed the theme and deselected the Post Author option. This made the entire author go away. But as I stated originally, I want to show and credit the name of the author, but I don’t want to link to an author’s page. It’s not a page that we manage content for or one that we want search engines/people navigating to.

With project categories, I want to remove them altogether. Hiding them in CSS still leaves the links in the actual HTML, causing people and engines to find their way to those pages. We don’t want that.

    So to summarize:

    • Blog Author – Leave the text, but get rid of the hyperlink
    • Project Category – Remove entirely from page

    Hi there,

We’ve updated it to an option that removes the link instead. Additionally, in the Portfolio section, we’ve added an option to disable the category section. The beta version is available below:

Please let us know if that resolves the issues. 🙂

These changes worked well as far as I can tell. However the recent posts widget in the footer still links the author. Can you make it such that the widget respects that setting (or guide how to override that on my side)?

    Thanks!
