Sorry, I missed this. Everything is OK now. We can consider this resolved, thanks.

    >> It is not working on your site because of the custom CSS code that you have used using Yellow Pencil Plugin so to make it work please remove the custom CSS code from your site.

    OK thanks for that.

    >> You can reset the Yellow Pencil Editor CSS as described in the following pages.

OK. But I’m not looking to reset the CSS in YelloW Pencil. For now, I would just like to edit it temporarily. But how do I edit the code? If I open Dashboard–>Yellow Pencil–>Customizations, I can view the custom CSS (see attached screenshot jba-yp-code), but I cannot edit it. If I click the ‘edit’ icon, I am taken to a front-end editor (see attached screenshot jba-yp-edit). But now how do I edit the custom CSS code that I see in the ‘Customizations’ screen?

I had a look at the two links you posted, but neither of them explain how to edit the existing custom CSS.

    >> There isn’t any option to do this so you have to achieve it developing custom CSS code.

    OK thanks for confirming that.

    Thanks.

    Thanks for the reply.

    >> Yes, by default the theme menu works like that which you can see on the below demo site.

I looked at that demo site. I have two follow-up questions:

    1. How do I enable that behavior on my site (https://www.jewelsbyaron.com/)? As you can see, my site does not exhibit it.

    2. On your demo site, I see how the height of the header decreases slightly as you scroll down. But I don’t see that the size of the logo decreases, or that the menu font size decreases. Does the theme allow me to easily do both of those?

    Thanks.

Actually wait, I have a big issue moving forward. As you can see in those last screenshots, the ‘max-width’ value has an ‘!important’ added by the theme. So I will not be able to modify that value with custom CSS–correct?

OK got it. So just to be clear, what you’re saying here is, “Hey, I’ve given you a start, but at this point, you’ll have to finish it on your own.” Does that sound accurate 🙂 If so, no worries at all. I was just mainly concerned that this somehow might require some PHP edits.

Thanks for the help. I’ll take it from here.

Are you saying you think that requires custom PHP edits?

Don’t you think that can be accomplished with some additional CSS? For example, if I change the max-width on the element from 300 to 450, the content becomes wider (see attached screenshots). Wouldn’t that get me close to what I want? Or am I misunderstanding something?

To be clear, I am a developer, and am comfortable editing PHP, HTML/CSS, or JS. But this looks like it can be done with just CSS–would you agree?

OK thanks. What about the last question I added later:

Also, when the layout breaks to a single column, is there a way to increase the width of the column? As you can see from the example site (https://asjtest.tidalwavesolutions.com/about.html), at low screen widths, the content (both text and images) are nearly the full width of the screen.

OK thanks for that. I’ve added it. I actually changed the break point from 575 px to 550 px. But I have a couple follow-up questions:

    1. At that break point, the layout does change. But the images are not full width, as in the example site I showed you. Is there any way to ensure that?

    2. This is a custom CSS solution. To be clear, would it be possible to implement this solution via WPBakery, specifically, by editing the Responsive section on the page, i.e. via these instructions? Or do those instructions pertain to something else?

    Thanks.

OK thanks for that. I added your code, and see the change it made. But that’s not exactly what I want. Actually, I didn’t make it clear in my original message what I wanted, so I’ll describe it now.

I’d like to emulate the layout on this page.  Specifically, at screen widths of 575 px and below, the layout changes, so that images are on a row of their own, and full width (see attached screenshot).

How would I ensure that behavior on my existing page?

    Thanks.

    >> You can just read the description of the extension and check whether you use that functionality on your site.

Rather than having to read each description and guess whether that feature is in use on my site, does the theme have an easy tool to tell me whether or not an extension is in use?  That is what I’m asking.  It’s OK if not–I’ll just deactivate all and see what breaks.

    >> All extensions you can deactivate if you are not using them.

    OK thanks.

Is there an easy way to determine whether I am “using” an extension on my site?  Or do I simply have to deactivate the extension, then check every page on my site to see if anything is broken?

OK thanks, I understand to leave the plugin, but deactivate the extension. In addition to the ‘Page Builder’ extension, what other extensions can I safely deactivate?

    Hello,

Your reply is unclear to me.

    >> The Unyson plugin is required by the theme so you can’t deactivate it but you can deactivate all of its extensions including Unyson page builder extension.

You’ve mentioned the “Unyson plugin,’ but also its “extension,” named “Unyson page builder.” I am unclear on the differences. Specifically, when I open Dashboard–>Plugins, there is an entry named “Unyson” (see attached screenshot). Is that the “Unyson plugin” you’ve referred to, or the “Unyson page builder extension” you’ve referred to, or something else? If you can be clear on that, it will go a long way towards my understanding of the situation.

    Thanks.

    Solution for this topic

OK Visual Composer support replied. The issue lies in the fact that WPBakery and Visual Composer do not have all of the same features. I was under the impression they were identical in that respect, but I guess not. So the color gradient is a core feature of Visual Composer, but not WPBakery. Sheesh. OK then, good to know for the future. My mistake for assuming the two were identical.

That is sufficient enough for me to call this resolved and implement a custom CSS solution. Thanks for being patient on that.

OK using that form I’ve asked WPBakery pre-sales support if this is a core feature or not. I’ll let you know what they say. But it seems to me that I’ve already proven that–don’t you think the documentation page is good evidence? Can I ask why you say this is *not* a core WPBakery feature? I’m not arguing with you, you could be right–maybe I’m looking at deprecated WPBakery documentation or something. PerhapsBut I just want to know your rationale.

    Thanks.
