I discovered that the functionality I was seeing in the video I watched about using WP Bakery was with a particular theme (Total) and it seems some of the content elements are specific to that theme. Maybe the text editor as well, though that shows up in the normal text box element.
So I’ve decided to change to the Total theme. You can close this thread.
And another question, in the text box/block editor, why am I not seeing the second row of text editing tools that gives access to font, color, font size, etc.?

Hello! Thanks for your offer of help. I’m actually going to rebuild the pages I’ve started with using WP Bakery, and so I think the issues I was having may be resolved there. If I have future problems, I’ll start a new ticket. Thanks much!

Here’s another problem. The black button block you see in this screenshot keeps showing up no matter how many times I remove the block and update the page. Can you help?
