Home Forums Gillion Theme Upgrade PHP caused the site to break

    We have a website using Gillion.

     

    We have recetly updated from PHP 7.4 to 8.2, but once that is updated in cPanel, the entire website throws a 403 error.

    We jave spoke with our hosting company, but they were unable to determine what was causing the issue.

    Are there any known issues with Gillion related to PHP updates or ways that we might be able to work through this and ensure that we are using a non-depreciated PHP version?

    Hi

    I have gone through all the plugins on this site and there seems to be an issue with the Elementor plugin. If I deactivate this plugin, it seems to bring back some of the functionality of this site; however its still not working as before.

    This is quite urgent for us and I can’t find any similar articles on your knowledgebase.

    Are you able to provide some help please?

    Hi again,

    I have deactivated and removed the 2 plugins that are causing the site to crash. See screenshot. However, we cannot download and install them as there is an error.

    Thanks for the updates.

     

    Since the issue started right after switching to PHP 8.2, the next step is to check the server error log, as it should show the exact reason for the 403 and the plugin install error. Please review:

    • cPanel -> Errors (or Metrics -> Errors)
    • or cPanel -> File Manager -> your site folder -> look for error_log

     

    If you find any entries mentioning Elementor, the theme, or a specific plugin file, please paste the latest few lines here. That will help us determine what may be causing the issue.

    If I disable the plugins for Elemantor and redux framework the site is at least available, although not working.

    We don’t appear to be able to see error logs with our panel

    Hi again,

    I have now removed all plugins and tried again. It appears the only plugin not working, which causes a problem, is the Elementor plugin.

    Is it possible to help with this without the error logs?
