Hi Shufflehound,
I played around with the Portfolio 2.0 settings and see you have indeed actioned this feature request. I applaud you for taking the time and effort to listen to constructive feedback. That is more than most theme developers do.
That being said if you can please advise why the blog filters don’t work the same way as the portfolio. The use of Ajax would be much better than reloading the page each time a filter is selected? Unless its settings on my side?
Best Regards,
Hi Shufflehound,
Following up on this request. We have been using the Jevelin Theme since October 2017 and enjoyed its great functionality.
The only confusing element is the fact we can’t have a portfolio with pagination as well as filters at the top, as well as the blog not using Ajax and having to reload when a filter is selected. If we could have the blogs pagination with filters and the portfolio’s Ajax, this theme would be far superior to most others.
Has this feature request got any closer to being actioned as our portfolio is getting longer and longer as time goes on.
Best Regards,
Nvm I am figuring it out. seems the default header was changed to header 10 and the css was not correctly assigned to it from my previous edits.
Sorry,
Upon closer inspection the pages such as http://digitaldynamite.co.za/digital-dynamite/ are now transparent where they used to be white bg and dark text.
I am basically trying to have the image header with a dark header and white bg.
Please advise,
Hi Shufflehound,
When I tried it with v2.6.1 it removed the header background and wasn’t prioritizing the child theme. Now that I did it with v2.6.3 it seems to have successfully updated.
Files may have incorrectly downloaded or corrupted the first time round but all is sorted now.
Thanks for taking the time to assist.
Is there a way to allow for pagination as even plugins like Essential Grid have filters as well as pagination?
Could this be included in a future update?
Hi Shufflehound,
Just following up on this query. If we could get either the Portfolio or Portfolio 2.0 element to show the filters as well as pagination at the bottom. This is the end goal we are looking to acheive.
Please advise if there the above is possible as we are about to launch the website.
Best Regards,
Hi Shufflehound,
I have added the Portfolio element and set it to Style 1. The pagination shows at the bottom but no filters are appearing at the top.
Best Regards,
It worked perfectly, thanks so much.
Best Regards
Thank you for the prompt response.
I will give it a try and let you know if I come right.
Best Regards,
Sorry hopefully my last query,
On the portfolio pages, the project gallery images get cropped to 660 x 660 pixels and lightbox bigger. My question is if it can crop the images from the top and not just in the middle as it is now?
Is there a workaround for this as it looks bad cropped in the middle.
Please advise?
Hi Shufflehound,
Thanks for all your time and effort on this. I clearly am still very new to child themes and their implementation.
It seems to be working now perfectly.
Best Regards,
See login credentials, you will have to change the blog style to style 1 in the theme settings to see the recent posts widget I was trying to edit.
Also bear in mind all my CSS is in the child themes style.css folder so please don’t erase this.
Best Regards
I have tried adding your specific child theme as requested. The style.css and functions.php file work fine but the /inc/ folder is not applying any changes.
I will use a workaround for now, however if you have an alternative I would love to hear it.
Thanks,
If you can give me any solution to edit the files in the jevelin/inc/ directory without actually overwriting the parent theme files that would assist greatly.
This Child Theme is not working as it should and is wasting a lot of time and energy to no avail.
Best Regards,
Hi Shufflehound,
Thanks for the feedback, I have tried this already as I read another thread on support with this child theme attached to no avail.
From what I have tested if I place code in the functions.php file it makes the change without any hassle. As soon as I look to overwrite other files by duplicating the parent directory, this does not work.
Is it not a case of the child-theme not taking priority over the parent theme or something?
Please advise?
I have also tried a simpler overwrite, namely /jevelin-child/css/responsive.css/ and changes made to this directory are also not taking effect.
If you could please assist as soon as possible as the matter is time sensitive.
Hi Shufflehound,
Thank you for your response, I have attached my jevelin-child theme folders. The entire parent theme directory is in as per the topic you shared, however its not working still.
Please advise?
