Good morning. We reset the cache on the server side. It appears that has fixed the CSS version discrepancy. The original blog slider display problems has now been resolved. Would you recommend that we continue with clearing server cache after each theme update installation? Or could there be some additional conflict that might trigger this in the future? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Also, I’d like to thank the support team for your patience and extremely timely responses. This forum has been extremely helpful and an important resource for a non-developer admin to have access to, kudos to everyone at Shufflehound Support!

We have not tried to clear cache on the server side yet. I will let our tech lead know and see if the server side cache will fix the problem. I’ll also find out if they will be OK with letting you temporary access for troubleshooting. I’ll see if we can get an answer on both within 24 hours. Thank you very much for your patience.

Hi, thanks for your response. We don’t think it is a cache issue on the local side. Could it be an issue on the server side? Do we need to clear cache on the ISP server? As for the troubleshooting, I will need to get confirmation from the website owner and the tech lead to provide approval and login info for you. Please standby on that front. Thank you!

Hi. I just noticed that a the end of the CSS URL in the page source, there’s a “?ver=5.6.1” added to the end of the URL. When I delete that query, and reload my the CSS in my browser, the version becomes v3.9.4. The URL with “?ver=5.6.1” at the end displays v3.8.1. I also FTP’ed the style.css file from the server onto my desktop and can confirm that the version is 3.9.4 installed on the server. Is this something being done on the ISP side or some theme/dashboard setting I selected without knowing its impact? I believe the v5.6.1 is referring to the WP version installed on my site?

Hi there. The Gillion theme has been activated and child theme turned off. The CSS is still showing its v3.8.1?

I’ve been using the Dashboard’s “Updates” page to update the Gillion. Is this not the correct way to update? Should I be manually FTP’ing the Gillion update files instead?

That is strange… am I not looking in the right place? I am running the Gillion Child theme, and this is the version of Gillion being displayed on my WP theme page.

Morning… I went in and double check our website and it is currently running Gillion 3.9.4. Is the file attached a different version of what is currently installed?

Hi there, I just received confirmation that the issue is still showing up on a limited number of machines with Windows 10 OS and the following browsers. Our tech lead cleared cache or were previewing the website on rarely opened browsers. Browser list below:

    Chrome 88.0.4324.190 after clearing cache
    Edge 88.0.705.74
    Firefox 86.0
    Brave 1.2.110 (Chromium 88.0.4324.192)

I’ve contacted my client and will report back if the problem persists.

Hello there, the URL is in the private field below. I did want to let you know that I went on a couple of test laptops running Windows 10 using the same browsers and were NOT able to replicate the problems my client forwarded to me later in the day. As previously mentioned, I did update both the Gillion theme and the WP Bakery plugin over the weekend. Could this be a problem generated by a cached version of the website with the older theme version and the WP Bakery plugin on my client’s browsers? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yes. The Author link compiles a beautiful Gillion page listing all articles written by the assigned author of the blog posts when I deactivated the plugins and turned on the Author/Date meta tags in theme settings. So I guess we can confirm the culprit are the plugins? Thanks a lot!

URL is in the private information field. As you can see, the author link is defaulting back to the homepage because the Author and Date is being generated by a couple of plugins. It looks like the Author/Date meta tags have been turned off in the theme settings to accommodate the plugins and the author link is going nowhere. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

No. This is perfect. Is there any documentation on how this page is compiled? Is this authors page automatically generated when you turn on the author meta tags via the theme settings for posts? This might be the reason why it’s not working on our website. Please advise. Thanks!

    Solution for this topic

Hi there… after more research, I was able to find the code you provided earlier this year. It worked like a charm. Please close this ticket out. Sorry to have added to your long list of queries unnecessarily. I should have done more research before starting anew ticket. Thank you!

Hi Support team. I followed your direction. Everything is resolved. Thanks once again for averting a mini crisis.

Thanks for the feedback. And for saving me and my client any additional time I would have wasted on resolving a problem I was unqualified to fix. I will recommend to my client the additional development support as you suggested. Consider this ticket closed!

Hey… I researched through the support threads and found out that the Gillion Elements are only supported in plugin 6.0.2.  The 6.0.5 doesn’t support it. I restored my site back to before I upgraded the plugin. Everything is back to normal.

Good morning… I am sorry to have to pester you on this ticket, but since I am not a developer, I have not been successful in changing the aspect ratio of the featured image on my client’s Gillion theme blog post templates. I did try to use the custom CSS method to reduce the height of the image, but once again, the image did not get changed, but the article was pushed up behind the image. The second method as I understand it would be use the child theme and then add in new image size parameters to update the theme’s CSS to have the featured image display in the new aspect ratio? I am also confused if I need to download the plugin to re-size the thumbnails as indicated in one of the support threads you cited. Please provide insight, sorry to be so dense…
