Your website is not accessible and just displays an error “Internal Server Error” so please make sure that it is accessible.
Also, along with updating the theme, please also update all the plugins used on the website.

This can be a child theme issue used on your site so to confirm it just temporarily use the Jevelin theme on your site. If everything works fine then it’s your site child theme issue.
Also, this can be due to plugin conflict on your site so please try temporarily deactivating all plugins except Unyson, Redux framework, and WpBakery page builder plugins and see whether everything works fine and then enable the plugins one by one to see which plugin is conflicting if any.
I didn’t tell you to edit the wrong place but it seems you don’t know how the WordPress template file system works.
The theme single.php file calls other files using the below code.
get_template_part( 'content', 'format-'.get_post_format() );
So you have to change it also in other files as shown in the attached screenshot.

You are still using the older version of the theme as shown in the attached screenshot so please update it to the latest version as described in my earlier reply.
Is Jevelin Beta 4.9.2 the latest theme version? How/where do I get the lastest theme version on your site in the future? I’d prefer not to have to install the plugin…

Also, slider revolution which the Jevelin template uses, is asking me to update and pay for a yearly license in order to get their updates… this was not something I knew about when I purchased this template. Is this necessary?

If you have not purchased slider revolution plugin and using the plugin bundled with the theme then you are not direct customer of that plugin so can not activate that plugin.
