How are you updating the theme?
Please try deleting and reinstalling the latest version of theme.
Also please make sure you are using latest version of PHP on your server by referring the information provided in the following pages.

Sorry to hear of the problem you are having.
I logged into your shared site and updated the theme without any issue by deleting and reinstalling the latest version of theme.
Could you please check it?
I saw you are using outdated version of PHP on your site as displayed in the attached screenshot so please update it to the latest version by contacting your web host.

Please edit that page and also make sure the same layout is selected in the page settings as displayed in the attached screenshot.

Just a query about WP Bakery licencing. The version that came with my theme purchase seems to be 5.4.7 with the latest version at 5.6. Does the purchase of Gillion theme permit me to upgrade to 5.6 through my purchase with you or am I obliged to buy a separate license from WP Bakery as their marketing spin would suggest?
You are using the plugin bundled with the theme therefore you are not direct customer of that plugin and cannot update that plugin until you purchase it.

We update the plugin with every new theme version. In this case you can just delete old plugin version and reinstall latest plugin version bundled with theme from Appearance -> Install Plugins
We will update the plugin in the future version of theme.
On another issue, is WP Bakery essential for this theme to work correctly of can I substitute it with another editor
No it is not essential for the theme and you can use any other editor.

This can be child theme issue used on your site so to confirm it just temporary use the Jevelintheme on your site. If everything works fine then it’s your site child theme issue.
Also this can be due to plugin conflict on your site so please try temporary deactivating all plugins except Unyson plugin and WpBakery page builder plugins and see whether everything works fine and then enable the plugins one by one to see which plugin is conflicting if any or use following plugin to check it.
