I hope you are well today and thanks for helping out by notifying the issue.
The theme on the demo site is a bit old so we’ll update it and if the issue still persists then we’ll resolve it and also release the updated theme to the users.

I also wish to incorporate the image slider into the default layout so that there are no mini images and everything sits above the page fold. Could you please advise?
I can see the slider on the home page of your site but don’t see mini images there so please tell me a bit more in detail what you are referring there.

I could confirm the issue on my test site therefore notified the theme developer about this so that it will be fixed.
The issue will be fixed ASAP.
In the meanwhile you can try resolving the issue by using the attached modified child theme of Jevelin theme.

Masonry Blog is not a template but blog style which you can choose from page blog settings in the page where you have set page Template to Blog as shown in the attached screenshots.

Btw, I did it through .pot file, is this the right solution, or it can be done better in some other way?
Using POT file is a right solution.
Now I can’t find where resides “sh-popover” in order to translate or maybe remove it from the blog posts (I mean popover New and Hot).

Sorry to hear of the problem you are having.
It is an Unyson plugin issue. Please make sure you are using latest version of Unyson plugin and try enabling / disabling Performance mode of theme as shown in the attached screenshot.

Not sure why it is redirecting to portfolio page from projects page on your site.
