The theme doesn’t come with images until you install any demo content.
Have you installed the demo content?
If not then could you please share me the screenshot of the images or the page URL from your site where it is displaying so that i can help you?

I visited your shared page several time but the sidebar displays fine for me as shown in the attached screenshot.
Please try using different browser to confirm whether it is browser related issue or find out exactly when the sidebar doesn’t display.

I would like to change the color of the overlay to #e50042 How can I do this? The current color is blue
You can change it either from Accent color option of theme styling settings or by adding the following CSS code in the Custom CSS code option of your theme on the below path.

Why is the overlay longer than the image? How can I match sizes of both?

It seems you are using Shufflehound Social widget.
If it is so then you can add more social icons in it using the widget option as shown in the attached screenshot.
Also, maybe I could use another thread for this but I wanted to have a full width option below the header nav on the fashion template. Is it possible?
If you are talking about full width page then you can achieve it using theme option.

Sorry to hear of the problem you are having.
I have tested it on my test site and it’s working fine for me using latest version of Gillion theme and Unyson plugin.
I could confirm the issue on your shared site but couldn’t log in to your site using shared credentials to troubleshoot it.
Could you please make sure the shared credentials are correct and working fine?
Also please try deleting Gillion theme & Unyson plugin and install latest versions of it.

I could confirm the issue on your site but it is working fine on my test site.
Have you made any changes in the theme files?
Could you please try deleting and reinstalling the theme?
Are you using WordPress multisite?
I have created feature request to change this FB messenger icon in the future version of theme.
Yes you need to activate those recommended plugins as displayed in the attached screenshot then you can reimport demo content.
