I already have ‘side bar’ selected as layout, I can see the side bar however as soon as I select posts page ‘blog’ it messes up the layout and puts random content all over the page.
You are checking it in theme settings but instead, you have to edit the page and check its Page Settings as displayed in my above shared screenshot.
I also don’t have any ‘recent posts’ elements added anywhere. I have checked the widgets for blog and also the page content?
That element is called as Blog Posts as shown in the attached screenshot.
I can see you are using older version of the theme on your shared so please update the theme on your site to the below latest version as described here https://support.shufflehound.com/updating-theme/
Could you please add the same slider in the content area of any your site test page and share me its URL so that I can troubleshoot it?

Please try clearing and temporarily deactivating the automptize cache plugin that you are using on your website.

Yes, it should work with the Jevelin theme.
I visited your shared site but didn’t see any slider on it.
Could you please display the slider so that I can troubleshoot it?
