We tested Jevelin 5.4 with the newest WP and WPBakery page builder versions and it seems to work fine.
Maybe you have access to the PHP log so that we can figure out the issue?

If the issue is only for older images (added before the installation) you can try to use Force Regenerate Thumbnails by regenerating all the small images for all the images.

About the dropdown color you may try to change it under Jevelin Settings (at the topbar) > Styling > Dropdown / Menu (section) and try to adjust colors there for your liking.

- Can you please let us know which exact border you want to remove?]
- Please try to go to Jevelin Settings (at the topbar) > Header > Logo Sizes and set it to Manual and try to adjust sizes. Let us know if that works
